3 Months to Abs - Shaun Hadsall's daily diet
So yesterday I promised to reveal how Karen and
I use fasting to increase our fat-loss and make fat
burning nutrition easier.
Notice, I didn't say "easy"....I said easier. There's no
such thing as easy when it comes to fat-loss. You're
going to have to plan ahead a little and work at it.
So let's quickly cover our step-by-step exercise and
meal plan based on a morning exercise session and
an evening exercise session so we cover both camps.
Remember, this schedule is designed for rapid fat-loss
since summer is right around the corner.
Ready? Set? Go!
- 6am: wake up, 12 oz of water, 2 capsules of SHRED 360, one cup of black
coffee
- 6:45am: foam roller, light stretching, 5 minute walk on treadmill or stationary
bike (increase blood flow for increased fat-burning and injury prevention)
- 7:00am: High intensity exercise session (weights or intervals)
- 8:00am: Strategic Sauna for at least 20 minutes (stretch, read goal cards, focus
on gratitude)
- 8:45 - 9am: 2 scoops of Biotrust Low Carb with one serving of Athletic Greens
mixed in (add berries or a spotted ripe banana on weight training days...skip the
fruit on cardio/interval only days).
- 9:30am - 6pm: Intermittent Fast (for those who are already lean, like me, I
recommend 5-10 grams of amino acids every 3 to 4 hours until dinner time)
- 6pm: Dinner feast. 30-40 grams of lean animal protein, 2 cups of steamed
veggies, salad loaded with veggies and small amount of vinegar and oil.
I have Karen add one cup of clean starches on weight training days and I
personally will have 2 potatoes or 2 cups of white rice if I did weights in the
morning...but skip the starches on cardio/interval days for increased fat-burning.
You can use quinoa, yams, or squash if you want. Just make sure to stay away
from grains and whole wheat.
- 8:30pm: 2 scoops of Biotrust Low Carb, 15 to 20 raw nuts, 1 tablespoon of
coconut oil blended with one cup of non-flavored coconut milk (I add berries
or frozen fruit on weight training days, but skip the fruit to decrease calories
and carbs on cardio/interval days).
- 10:30pm - 11pm: Bed (make sure this is at least 2 hours after your last meal
a few days of the week to increase Growth Hormone release the first 90 minutes
of your sleep cycle).
If you exercise in the evening I recommend you follow
this same exact schedule, but have your big dinner within
45 to 60 minutes after exercise.
Remember, there are a thousand ways to skin the fat-loss
cat. The BEST plan is one that you can adhere to.
Don't fall for this (I almost did on Monday) by Shaun Hadsall
Don't fall for this (I almost did on Monday)
Last Monday, I woke up to a boatload of problems.
- First, I forgot to set my alarm so I woke up late.
- Then I spilled my coffee all over myself on the way to the gym. Yes, it was hot.
- Next, my knee kept locking up during my workout. Totally annoying.
- Then my iPod went dead. This always irks me.
- Then I found out I had a broken link in yesterday's email newsletter.
By this time, my butt was starting to get REALLY red.
Jeeeeesh! It wasn't even 9am yet!
I felt like I wanted to grab my favorite blanket and go
back to bed. :-)
But it reminded me that I had one of two different
choices or paths I could take for the day.
And when it comes to health and fat-loss (or just "life" in
general) these are the same two paths you can choose.
Path #1: The P.L.O.M. path.
Path #2: The P.M.A. path
The first path, which I call PLOM disease, stands for
Poor Little Ole' Me.
This can be an easy trap to fall into and it's a plague that
causes SERIOUS fat-storage in millions of people.
Just think about it.
Negative messages seem to be EVERYWHERE.
All you have to do is turn on the news to check the weather
and it only takes 5 minutes before you've been bombarded
with garbage.
I'm not saying you should ignore what's going on in the
world but, in my opinion, you need be VERY selective
about what you expose yourself to nowadays...
...especially if you want to avoid PLOM disease.
But I'm warning you now.
Most people naturally criticize critical thinking or positive
attitudes so PLOM can sneak into your life and CONSUME
you without even realizing it.
Next thing you know, it's ten extra pounds of fat on your
belly later, which can end up being a downward spiral if
you're not careful.
I would venture to say that ANYBODY who has tried to
lose weight or accomplish anything significant in their life
will suffer from this disease at one time or another.
I almost fell for it on Monday.
Don't do it.
Instead CHOOSE path #2.
The PMA...or Positive Mental Attitude path.
It's not a cure for all our problems...but it is a choice.
And if you focus on maintaining a PMA you'll be able to
handle the outcome of ANY situation and potentially even
change the outcome altogether.
So why not stack the deck in your favor?
Stay positive.
After all, adversity will strike for all of us.
But EVERY adversity that hits our lives should be viewed
as a character building opportunity from God.
The difference between success and failure is getting up
off the ground when adversity hits, dusting yourself off and
making a conscious "choice" to avoid the dreaded PLOM
disease.
Remember, if you have a problem or issue in your life
there's probably a 95% chance that you've (directly or
indirectly) created the problem - so you're responsible.
I know sometimes this is a tough pill to swallow, but
it's 100% accurate.
Ultimately, when it comes to fat-loss or ANY area in life,
we all need to strive for consistency NOT perfection.
There is no such thing as "perfect"...especially when it
comes to the game of health and fitness.
It doesn't exist for you...for me...or anybody else.
I've failed over and over again at fat-loss and many
other things, but I always do my best to stay consistent.
THAT'S the difference maker.
Your ability to fight and stay "consistent" will allow you
to make continuous progress and serious life changes.
If you screw up, who cares?
Get back up and start over and over...and don't quit
starting over.
In fact, this should be one of your biggest priorities in life.
- To show the world that there are indeed POSITIVE people out there.
- To show people you care.
- To give them hope.
- To show them if they persist, stay consistent and never give up they
can succeed no matter what their dreams and goals.
And always remember.
The more you maintain a PMA and help others, the more
the world will help you. It's the Law of Giver's Gain and it
will NEVER change.
Sometimes in life we can't control what happens to
us and sometimes we can.
The only thing we really can control is "how" we react
to any situation when the adversity hits.
Remember, when you light yourself on fire with a PMA,
people will travel miles to watch you burn.
The positive energy becomes contagious and you'll
naturally "attract" MORE positive people and results
into your life.
So what about you?
Do you have PLOM disease???...
Or are you always focused on a PMA???
Make sure you hit reply and let us know your thoughts.
Your friend,
Shaun "stay positive" Hadsall
The Most Dangerous Book You Could Read By Craig Ballantyne
The Most Dangerous Book You Could Read
By Craig Ballantyne
This book is dangerous. It can literally destroy your ambition, one of the most important character traits you can have. Unfortunately, young people are the most common victims. For example, this summer I was in Lithuania at the BlackSmith Camp teaching Liberty and Entrepreneurship to fifty young business leaders of tomorrow.
On the second morning of the camp, my friend Simon Black expressed some frustration. It turned out that a few of the attendees had been corrupted by this book.
I hope it hasn’t tainted you too. So let’s find out.
What I want you to do is to think back to when you first read this book and answer me this…
“How did you hope your life would change after reading it?”
“Did you really expect to achieve the literal results that the title promised you?”
If so, then you too have been seduced by…
The 4-Hour Work Week.
With the wrong perspective, it could be the most dangerous book in the world to your ambitions.
Back at the camp, a few students had revealed their diabolical plans to Simon. It went something like this…
“I’m going to use the 4-Hour Work Week system so I can surf all day, play X-box all night, and work as little as possible.”
BUT LISTEN…
That’s not what Tim Ferriss meant.
Nor is that the life he follows.
You know why?
Because a literal 4-hour work week is a life WITHOUT meaning.
Imagine this…
…you’re a smart, energetic 22-year old kid. After reading the 4-Hour Work Week, you discover how to leverage or arbitrage your knowledge into a business. But then you take it too far and aim to make just enough money to get by while working just 4 hours per week.
Seven years come and go…then BOOM – you’re 29 years old.
You stand on the cusp of 30…having accomplished NOTHING… because you’ve drowned your ambitions in a sea of mediocrity. All this because you were chasing the “minimalist lifestyle” and a bloody 48-minute work day.
Where is the honor in that? Where would you stand in your journey to change the world? How many years would you have “designed away” in your lifestyle experiments?
It would have been a waste of what could have been the most productive decade of their lives.
Now don’t get me wrong, Tim’s ideas are solid and can make your life easier and better – and will even benefit strangers living in far away places…
That said, I guarantee there’s no Internet Independence reader working just 4 hours per week.
…And if you do only work 4 hours per week, you’re either:
A) No longer a value adder to the world
Or
B) Unemployed and also not adding value to the world
So that’s why The 4-Hour Work Week can be the most dangerous book you could ever read.
It should come with a WARNING label, one that says…
“Do NOT take this book title literally. If you do, you will waste your life. Instead, use these ideas wisely in order to generate MORE value to the world.”
But the book spawned a movement – one that has taken on a life of its own – and has the potential to crush your dreams.
That’s right, CRUSH your TRUE dreams rather than helping you achieve them.
This movement is stealing value from the world because too many people are looking for an excuse to do nothing – and to be proud of it.
The “Value Extractor Movement (VEM) will kill you.
It encourages VEMmers to work as little as possible all day – as if THAT were an honorable way of living.
It tells you to lock your talents up in a toolbox and keep them hidden from the world.
Its seductive siren call sings in your ear, “Forget all of the people you could be helping…work less…do less…BE LESS.”
And worst of all:
“Expect something for nothing.”
And that’s wrong.
Flat out wrong.
Let me ask you something…
Do you know what happens to a lot of people when they retire?
What happens to them when they stop adding value to the world?
They die.
Inside and outside.
And being a part of the VEMmer movement will kill your soul and dreams, too.
A 4-hour work week might not seem like such a bad idea now because of the struggles you’re going through today. You feel like you’ll never be able to enjoy a 40-hour work week, let alone one of only 4-hours.
Right now you feel like you’re working or studying all the time in a hardscrabble existence as you struggle to build your business, perhaps as you work two jobs, and as you worry about losing them.
That’s why the 4-Hour Work Week sounds so seductive.
But you know what?
The way you are living, fighting, and working today is better.
Yours is the honorable way to live because you’re finding a way to add value to the world.
So trust me.
There will come a time when you breakthrough and achieve more success than you’ve ever dreamed of. And that’s when it will be tempting to become complacent. To stop working so hard. To stop adding value.
One day it will be hard for you to resist that siren’s call of the comfort zone.
When that day happens, after you’ve achieved more than you ever thought possible, I urge you to never give in, and never give up on making a bigger difference in the world.
Don’t succumb to the selfish ideals of the VEMmers.
Resist the temptation, for…
“That which is most satisfying is that which is earned. Anything received free of charge is seldom valued. You can’t get something for (from) nothing. The price is too high.”
- Kekich Credo #38
That’s one of my favorites.
A true principle by which to live your life.
Add value and get what you deserve.
Earn what you want.
Do not be ashamed, embarrassed, or discouraged to WORK for a living…to put in your time…and to sacrifice some leisure time in order to change the world.
Be proud of it.
Now more than ever the world needs people like YOU.
Stop thinking, “How little can I work? How much value can I EXTRACT from the world? How can I get something for nothing? How can I weasel my way out of the responsibility I have for using the amazing talents that I’ve been given?”
If you literally tried to work 4 hours per week, you’d be robbing the world of your talents, and robbing yourself of true satisfaction.
In 10 years from now, what type of person would look back and be proud of their decision to work just a few hours per week?
I doubt anyone would be satisfied with that…instead, you would look back on your (empty) life with regret and sadness.
Thinking that you failed.
That you failed to pursue your vision…and that you failed to accomplish your mission in life, the one that you were born to accomplish.
How would that feel?
What kind of “lifestyle design” would you have achieved?
An empty one, at best. A wasted one, at worst.
BUT…
The person that invests their life force and an honest work ethic into adding value will look back and be satisfied.
The person that focused externally on changing the lives of OTHERS rather than internally on sucking out value for themselves…that person would truly have the life well lived.
I encourage you to take a lesson from the REAL life of Tim Ferriss, rather than the misguided VEMmers spawned by the book.
Look at what he really does, and ask yourself…
“How can I leverage my time to add MORE value to the world? How can I connect with the right people? How can I do more, BE MORE, serve more, and educated more? How can I become a person of influence and a creator of value?”
The 4-hour Work Week is an important book – when used wisely.
What "success" has to do with money by Jack Firestone
Success CAN mean
different things. And not all of
them have to do with being
"financially" successful.
But, if you dig deep enough,
your ability to become successful
in those other areas of life ARE
actually affected by how much
money you have.
For instance, if you don't have
enough money to pay your bills,
you wind up working more hours
than you should just to make
ends meet.
And if you spend all your waking
hours working to try to make
ends meet
...that's time you're
...not spending with your kids.
...not spending with your kids.
...not spending with your spouse.
...not spending reading good books.
...not spending learning to play
your favorite instrument.
...not spending studying your
spiritual path.
...that's time you're not spending
traveling the world.
...that's time you're not able to
give to those less fortunate.
...able to engage in stimulating
conversation with others
you can learn from.
...that's time you can't spend
studying a topic you want to
know more about ...
Money is definitely connected
to time. And time determines
how well (and how far) we can
succeed at anything.
Additionally.....if you don't have
money to pay the bills, then you
also don't have money to:
-- buy a gift for a special boy/girl
-- buy a gift for a special boy/girl
-- enjoy the world's museums
-- buy nice clothing
-- travel to other parts of the world
-- support worthwhile charities and
non-profit organizations
-- give to others less fortunate
-- enjoy fine art
-- buy a special lady a wonderful
Mother's Day gift
-- buy your children the cheerleading
uniforms or band instruments
they need.
I'm not trying to convince you to
join my business. I have no
conversation for you there at all.
But I will say this: I believe I've
But I will say this: I believe I've
made my case. It's not good, bad,
right or wrong.......but without a
sufficient mount of MONEY
(which allows you to have
time freedom)....
...you can't live life to its fullest.
Fortunately, becoming wealthy in
Fortunately, becoming wealthy in
our society is a CHOICE...
How to unlock the door to your inner treasure and release your highest powers by Orison Swett Marden
"This force, which is the best thing in you, your highest self, will never respond to any ordinary half-hearted call, or any milk-and-water endeavor. It can only be reached by your supremest call, your supremest effort. It will respond only to the call that is backed up by the whole of you, not part of you; you must be all there in what you are trying to do. You must bring every particle of your energy, unanswerable resolution, your best efforts, your persistent industry to your task or the best will not come out of you. You must back up your ambition by your whole nature, by unbounded enthusiasm and a determination to win which knows no failure... Only a masterly call, a masterly will, a supreme effort, intense and persistent application, can unlock the door to your inner treasure and release your highest powers."
- Orison Swett Marden, was an American writer associated with the New Thought Movement.
The most powerful tool we have at our disposal
Mastin Kipp's wisdom is profound. This email really touched me-
"I've come to believe that our journey is to first become aware of how we react and not make it wrong. To understand that we and everyone we know are doing the best that they can from their point of view. And we can investigate where these reactions come from. And slowly over time we begin to see that when things trigger us "out there" - there is a precious space in between something happening and our reaction. And in this space we now have a choice - a choice of how we want to respond."
Here's the full post-
MASTIN'SDAILYDOWNLOAD
Almost everything that happens in our lives is the result of a choice that we have made. And for the things that happen in our lives that we didn't choose to have happen - how we CHOOSE to respond to these events is still our choice.
Choice is everything. And what I've come to see after doing TDL for so many years and working with thousands of people is that a lot of folks don't think they have a choice in their life.
It is not until we investigate where their actions come from that we discover they actually DO have the power to choose.
We don't always get to choose what happens in life, but we do get to choose how we respond to what happens. There is a BIG difference between reaction and response. Reaction is when something happens and we just react - without thinking. It's like the animal in us takes over and wants to either fight or run. We react with defensiveness, judgment or shock. We react with anger or even hate. We react with disgust. We react with all kinds of emotions that don't represent our highest nature.
I've come to believe that our journey is to first become aware of how we react and not make it wrong. To understand that we and everyone we know are doing the best that they can from their point of view. And we can investigate where these reactions come from. And slowly over time we begin to see that when things trigger us "out there" - there is a precious space in between something happening and our reaction. And in this space we now have a choice - a choice of how we want to respond.
To me, the ability to respond is far more powerful than unconscious reaction. This is respons-ibility - the ability to respond. And in this space, where we can choose, lay our power.
What are we going to make this mean? And why? What's the root of the trigger I'm having? What do I have to believe about life to have this reaction? And then what do I want to believe about life, what empowering perspective can I take that will allow me to see the lesson in this moment and then let it go?
This is like spiritual fitness training. Emotional muscle building. To be able to choose a response instead of be at the whims of our unconscious reactions.
So, where in your life are you triggered and are you willing to take a moment beyond your trigger to go in and investigate where it came from?
As always, the action happens over on the BLOG; head on over there and leave a comment on my blog "How to take your power of choice back!" and join in the conversation! The TDL Community thrives in the comments and it's a GREAT place to get support!

Navigating the Illusion by Sonia Miller
Navigating the Illusion
7 Lies You Believe About Yourself Which Imprison the Bigger You!
The following segment is part of an extended article series designed to shed light on the nature of the illusion we call reality, how it keeps us small, and how to unleash your life’s highest possibilities! To start at the beginning CLICK HERE.
Lie # 6 – You are limited and restricted. Lack and scarcity are real.
![]()
In our introduction to this article series we explored the nature of the Illusion, why you would choose to forget your infinite power, and how it is that you begin to remember. Today we continue delving more deeply into the Illusion in which you live by exploring the untruth that lack and scarcity are real.
Since universal principles dictate that where your attention goes, the energy flows. the most powerful consciousness we can practice is one of having more than enough. This means that whatever you do, whatever you think, whatever you believe, as you find ways to acknowledge what you have, and that it is indeed more than enough, you experience more and more abundance.
How exactly does one do this? Here are 3 mindsets that activate this expansive energy in your life.
#1 - Oneness
The first thing you must do is embrace the idea that you are already ONE with the infinite prosperity of the Universe. In order to do this, you must understand and accept some fundamental concepts:
When you seek greater prosperity, your mindset must be of oneness. You must contemplate that you are already one with all the money you could ever imagine. You are not separate from it. But, what we commonly do is focus on our seemingseparation from abundance.
Every time you think about money being outside of you, wanting it but not having it, waiting for a check in the mail, waiting to close a deal, or a sale, waiting for someone to pay you back, taking money out of your wallet and feeling that your resources are dwindling – all of that is separation consciousness.
A great way to start shifting toward the oneness mindset is with a willingness affirmation: I am willing to know my oneness with infinite abundance. I am willing to discover how I am already one with more prosperity than I could ever imagine.
#2 - Non-Judgment
Our source of money is not what we think it is. We think that money comes from a job, a client, an alimony check, a loan, etc. Those are simply channels that flow from only One Source. When we let go of where we think the money should come from, we start to open up to true prosperity.
Must-have mindset #2 is one of totally letting go of attachment and judgment about where money flows from. Good mantras to use are: There is only One Source and infinite channels. I am open and receptive to infinite prosperity circulating through my life from infinite and unexpected channels.
And, when one channel of money dries up (and this will happen for the rest of your life) rather than fretting, you can affirm, It’s okay. That’s not my Source. There is only One Source, and I’m open to infinite channels of prosperity.
#3 - Gratitude
Although gratitude is a commonly taught metaphysical principle, many people don’t understand why it is vital from a vibrational stand point.
When you give thanks you are acknowledging that you have something. When you tell the Universe “I have this,” you attract more and more of the experience of you having.
This is a discipline. You can either focus on what you have, no matter how small, or you can focus on what you don’t have (i.e. lack). Remember: where your attention goes the energy flows.
Even if you have debt, rather than resisting it, give thanks for this channel and give thanks for your willingness and readiness to allow a more abundant flow.Thank you Universe for the money I DO have. Thank you for the money in my wallet.
Thank you for the pay check I can count on. And when you pay a bill: Thank you for the fact that I HAVE the money to pay this bill. I send it out with gratitude knowing that it circulates back through my life multiplied.
Give it a try! You have nothing to lose and great abundance to gain!
